It is recommended to use summer tyres, when the air temperature is above +7 C and more, to ensure the best adhesion to dry and wet road surface. Summer tyres have lower circulation resistance and noise level, and, comparing to winter tyres, harder rubber composition. In Latvian climate conditions, it should be necessary to change summer tyres to winter tyres approximately in the beginning or middle of October; however, it is possible to change tyres earlier – at the end of September. We do not recommend using winter tyres in summer.
Use of summer tyres is allowed between 1 March and 1 December.
